I am an actor, director, scholar, musician, translator and teacher whose primary research interest has been the intersection of popular culture and modernism. My first book, No Kidding! Clown As Protagonist in Twentieth Century Theater won the American Library Association’s coveted Choice Award in 2004. I have been a member of Actors’ Equity since 1985 and have created theatre in Canada, USA, Australia, Germany, Italy, China and India.
